Privacy Notice

This notice explains how PromptSoft LLC collects and uses information when people use EduGPT.

1. Who operates EduGPT

EduGPT is operated by PromptSoft LLC. You can contact us about privacy at hello@edugpt.com.

2. Information we collect

We collect information needed to provide and improve EduGPT, including:

  • Account information such as name, email, role, organization, family or school name, login details, and settings.
  • Learner profile information such as name, grade level, age range or age when provided, language preferences, learning preferences, jurisdiction, placement details, goals, and accommodations or notes entered by an adult user.
  • Learning activity such as assigned lessons, course progress, completions, assessment results, practice history, chat/tutor interactions, notes, time spent, and generated learning artifacts.
  • Course and material content such as prompts, templates, imported transcripts, source links, uploaded text, generated images, assignments, and parent or teacher edits.
  • Billing and plan information such as plan status, credit ledger, invoice metadata, and payment processor references. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Communications such as email delivery records, support requests, and product messages.
  • Device and technical data such as IP address, browser type, log data, cookies, local storage, and security events.

3. How we use information

We use information to create accounts, authenticate users, personalize lessons and practice, generate and assign learning materials, provide tutoring chat, show progress reports, send service emails, process payments, protect the platform, provide support, troubleshoot issues, improve EduGPT, and comply with legal obligations.

4. AI and service providers

EduGPT may send relevant prompts, learner context, course content, transcripts, images, or other materials to service providers that help run the platform. These may include AI model providers, transcript and content extraction providers, email delivery providers, payment processors, hosting providers, database providers, and security tools.

We ask providers to process information only for the services they provide to EduGPT. We do not sell learner personal information or share it for third-party targeted advertising.

5. Children and students

EduGPT is built for adult-guided learning. Learners under 13 should use EduGPT only when access is created or authorized by a parent, legal guardian, or school representative with appropriate authority.

Parents, guardians, and authorized schools may contact us to request access to a learner's personal information, ask for correction, request deletion, or ask us to stop further collection from that learner. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.

Schools using EduGPT with students are responsible for obtaining any notices, consents, contracts, or approvals required by their district, state, country, or student privacy laws.

6. When we share information

We may share information with service providers, within a family or school account as configured by authorized users, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, in connection with a business transaction, or with your direction or consent.

7. Cookies and browser storage

EduGPT uses essential cookies and browser storage for login, security, session continuity, learning progress, notes, and preferences. We do not currently use advertising cookies. See the Cookie Policy for details.

8. Retention

We keep information as long as reasonably needed to provide EduGPT, maintain records, support billing and security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve the service. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for those purposes, subject to backup, legal, safety, and accounting requirements.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect personal information. No internet service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use strong passwords and keep account access limited to authorized users.

10. Your choices

You may update account and learner information in the app where available. You may also contact us to request access, correction, deletion, export, or other privacy assistance. Certain data may need to be retained for legal, security, billing, or legitimate operational reasons.

11. International use

EduGPT is operated from the United States. If you use EduGPT from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our providers operate.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Notice as EduGPT changes. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice through the app, website, or email.
